Pro-Collagen Skincare Products
Pro-Collagen Skincare & The Product Pairing I Swear By
We all have those friends/girl crushes who just ‘glow’. Those girls who emit a radiance which has you seeking their skincare tips like yesterday.
Whilst there are many factors which play a part in glowing skin – your lifestyle and genetics being two key components – you can also contribute greatly to the radiance of your skin by investing in effective skincare.
I’m sharing why I’m ALL about ELEMIS’s pro-collagen skincare range, and the dynamite duo of pro-collagen products which I am using on the daily. These products have proven (after months – even years! – of using them) that they truly deliver glow-getting results.
New to ELEMIS’s pro-collagen range? You can check out the brand’s hub of super helpful articles here, and read on for my take on two of their most powerful skincare products:
A GOOD SKIN DAY IS A GOOD DAY ALL ROUND
For the past couple of years I’ve been using ELEMIS products, and the positive results I have experienced since doing so mean that I have now converted 99% of my friends to ELEMIS users too. Simply – these products work.
We all know how amazing it feels when you have a ‘good skin day’ – you wake up in the morning, check your reflection and – no matter how superficial it may sound – it goes a long way in helping you to feel confident.
As I progress through my twenties I’ve had my fair share of good and bad skin days.
To find a skincare routine which guarantees the former more often (if not exclusively) over the latter is akin to the holy grail in my books!
The two ELEMIS products I am sharing with you have so vastly improved the appearance and consistency in the ‘good skin days’ for me, that I can’t wait for you to hopefully try them yourself!

ELEMIS’S PRO-COLLAGEN CLEANSING BALM
The ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm cleanses your skin whilst deeply nourishing it. It melts away makeup, pollutants and daily grime. It can also be used in a number of other ways as detailed here. It’s an incredible product which is heralded by skincare professionals, beauty editors and bloggers alike as one of the true ‘hero’ products of skincare available the world over.
A longer love-letter:
I’d never found a skincare product which just worked (as in did what it promised in its blurb and SO much more!) until I started to use the ELEMIS pro-collagen cleansing balm. You can read about just how effusive I’ve been in the past about this product here – I’m a genuine fan girl ????????
Most skincare products suggest using them for weeks, if not months, before you can really see results – but I am pretty impatient, and if I’m spending my money on skincare, I want results pronto.
Whilst the overall positive results of the ELEMIS pro-collagen cleanser are definitely most visible after you’ve been using it for a while, I immediately noticed how ‘clean’ and ‘bright’ my skin looked for adding this step into my cleansing routine. It instantly improves the appearance of your skin.
How do you use it?
The cleansing balm is the last cleansing step in your skincare routine. You can use it alone (it even takes off mascara) or you can use it after you’ve done your first cleanse. I do a bit of both.
If I’m not wearing a lot of makeup I’ll use the cleansing balm alone, and run a clean facecloth (I now have a pretty big collection of these) under a hot tap and thoroughly luxuriate in the pore-opening cleansing process of removing my makeup. It feels like a little spa moment every day!
On days when I’m wearing more makeup I’ll take my makeup off for the first time using a wipe, or some cleansing oil (I also love the ELEMIS Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil) and then I’ll go in with the cleansing balm for a really deep clean.
The cleansing balm provides a double hit of goodness! The cleansing element removes makeup, dirt and build-up from your day, whilst the pro-collagen aspect nourishes your skin and is packed with anti-ageing properties.
I have fine lines along my forehead and between my brows, and I have seen a genuinely smoother appearance since I started using the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm a few years ago.
Moreover, it has really helped to reduce the amount of breakouts I experience. Historically I have experienced bumpy skin, especially around my jaw line (hi hormones!) but the cleansing balm coupled with the Marine Oil (more on that below . . . !) has helped to keep my skin clear. Which feels amazing!
Being the advocate I am of this product (seriously if you’ve EVER asked me about skincare, I will have talked your ear off about this one) that now if you were to upturn the skincare shelves of most of my friends now you’d find this same balm – I’ve converted them too!
ELEMIS MARINE OIL
The ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Oil is a facial oil designed to moisturise, nourish and hydrate your skin. The positive effects of using it are: the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles are reduced, it helps to promote your skin’s natural moisture barrier, skin appears more youthful and radiant, and the texture of skin appears altogether ‘renewed’. This is the newest step in my skincare routine, which in just a few months has vastly improved the overall appearance of my skin, and helped me to achieve (most days!) that elusive ‘glow’.
A longer love-letter:
Given my fan-girl tendencies for the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, you can imagine my delight upon hearing that ELEMIS were releasing a new product in their pro-collagen range. Namely, the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Oil.
Now, if the term ‘oil’ makes you think of greasy heavy skin, let me help you to banish those thoughts!
Oils have come on a HUGE way in recent years, and the application of oil to my skin is now one of my favourite steps in my skincare routine. It’s light, nourishing and hugely effective.
How do you use it?
You can read a helpful article about applying facial oil here.
Essentially you pop 3-4 drops of the oil into the palms of your hands, and follow the instructions as to how to apply the oil. I like to sweep my hands across my face and down my neck – it feels like a little spa treatment every day at home.
It’s advised that you apply the Marine Oil day and night. A surprising added bonus I’ve discovered is that my makeup goes on so much more smoothly after using the oil. It really helps to create a ‘glow’ and it doesn’t affect the staying-power of my makeup either.
Similarly to the cleansing balm, this product just WORKS.
I didn’t have any particular preconceptions as to how effective or not it would be, but a few weeks in I really noticed the difference . . .
Quietly, without much thought, time or attention, my skin had seriously improved in appearance after a few weeks of using the oil.
Bumps which had plagued my chin (again, thanks hormones!) and discolouration from aforementioned hormonal acne had cleared up! My skin overall had a softer, tighter texture and people were complimenting me on my ‘glow’ *cue blushing and effusive comments about ELEMIS*. For the first time in a long time I felt confident enough to go makeup-free for days.
I have continued to use the Marine Oil every day, and now months in I don’t see myself looking back.
At £65 the oil is an investment for sure, and I wouldn’t advocate a luxury product like this unless I truly felt that you were getting your money’s worth. I’ve been using my Marine Oil for a couple of months and I still have about a 1/3 of the bottle left – and that’s with me being generous with application!
Using these two products together has proved to be a dynamite duo! Whilst I advocate taking care of your skin in many different ways – namely, your diet, exercise, sleep cycle and stress levels too – on the product front, these are two of the best I have come to know. They have a firm position in my skincare routine, and I think that they too can be stellar additions to yours ✨
WHAT’S YOUR TAKE?
Have you used ELEMIS products before? And if so, have you tried the pro-collagen range? I’d love to hear how you get on with them if so! And any other tips you have for taking care of your skin.
Love, Monica x
