Guys, the days are getting longer! As in, noticeably SO much longer.
With the evenings after work opening up, Oli and I are taking full advantage of . . .
1 – sitting outside at our favourite restaurants and watering holes.
2 – hopping in the car and taking drives at sunset. Every time we do I am reminded how much I love where we call home.
3 – dreaming of the holidays we have coming up (Menorca is only a week away!) and building the perfect early summer wardrobe for said adventures . . .
For the longest time I have been looking for a nude-coloured blazer, I find myself gravitating towards images of them on Pinterest all the time and yet I’ve never found a light summer one which fits my style. This Herringbone style from Crew Clothing Company answered my calling! The blazer is tailored which looks smart, yet the linen fabric makes it feel more relaxed. I’ve enjoyed wearing mine over a simple T shirt and pushing the sleeves up a little – it’s the styling details that makes an item feel like ‘you’ and I always find myself pushing up my sleeves a fraction. A fact which drives Oli mad if I borrow any of his jumpers!
Side note: I love that this blazer is described as an ‘almond’ colour – for some reason that makes me like it more?!
Right now I can just about get away with wearing a linen blazer as my top layer when we have a warm day – even if I did need a big blanket scarf to wrap up in for when we chased the sunset later in the evening.
I’m looking forward to taking the blazer with me to Menorca later in the season – it’s going to be perfect for slipping on in the evenings when there’s a light chill on the island. Oh and this blazer is perfect for wearing over a dress if you have a wedding to go to.
Moccasins: Crew Clothing Company
As ever I am stocking up on grey T shirts, I am always on the look out for great quality tees in a flattering fit – this one from Crew Clothing Company fits the bill perfectly, and for £25 it’s a great price for such a staple classic.
I can’t wait to swap out my jeans for denim cut-offs in the summer, I nabbed these tan Barton moccasins specifically with ‘summer legs’ in mind. There’s something so effortless about leather moccasins with bare legs in the summer – it’s a look I always love seeing. Funnily enough I’ve noticed lots of men in Menorca wearing a similar style of moccasin shoe, I’m excited to hop on the bandwagon and borrow from the boys where this style is concerned.
With the evenings getting longer, and the prospect of holidays on the horizon, it definitely feels like summer is right around the corner . . . !
What do you guys think? Are you starting to stock up on your summer pieces?
Love, Monica x
