Playful Autumn Fashion – Shop My Style
First up, thank you all so much for the response to my Instagram post this past Wednesday. Much though My Domaine is one of my most-frequently-visited tabs, and I pour over beautifully-curated Instagram feeds, it’s just as important to me to lift the lid on the surface-level beauty we so often consume and say “hey, nobody’s perfect and here is an imperfect moment from me.”
So thank you for letting me be and feel a little bit vulnerable, and for rallying around. Sending BIG virtual hugs your way.
On to today’s post . . . ????????
3 Playful Wardrobe Pieces To Rediscover This Autumn
When September rolls on round . . .
Autumn. Hey hey hey. I recall so vividly my first day at College (High School for our US friends ????????) – it was September, as it is now, and I was wearing a breton-striped jumper, a plaid mini skirt and some slouchy brown Sienna Miller-inspired boots. Remember this style era?
I was so in love with that outfit (funny how we remember certain ones!) and to this day I adore that in-betweeny bit of the seasons when you can get away with bare legs, ankle boots and a lightweight jumper.
Autumn/Winter is especially laden with sartorial anticipation as there are so many elements to think about . . .
Coats, scarves, knitwear, jeans, boots . . . the ongoing list makes my heart sing!
Today I am sharing three playful Autumn style favourites I am delighted to unearth from the archives of my wardrobe. I’d love to know if you share these Autumn favourites, and any others which you may have? Leave me a comment at the bottom of this post, or tweet me your thoughts.
Autumn Fashion Favourites
1 – A-line Mini
On our visit to New York last November I picked up this playful leopard print mini skirt from Zara. Day to day I am more often found to be in a pleated midi skirt, but the dark leopard print and A-line shape makes this a great skirt for the trans-season.
I’ve rounded up some of my favourite A-line miniskirts available right now below, if you like my leopard print version Topshop has a super similar option this season.
2 – Crew Neck Cashmere
Crew neck. Cashmere. Ah those words just sing cosy goodness to me! Oli always makes fun of the time I wrote (in a historic blog post) – “I’m living in cashmere” – and now every time I pull on a cashmere piece I wince at the pompousness of that sentence. Argh. We learn.
Genuinely though – I can’t deny it – great knitwear is one of my favourite reasons to turn the seasonal wardrobe. A crew neck will forever be my favourite cut as it works for dressy and casual occasions, and is a universally flattering neckline.
Again, I’ve done the hunting and come up with some fantastic crew neck jumper options, available now.
3 – Ankle Boots
For most of my friends, this is the element of autumn dressing they’re most looking forward to – ankle boots! I too can’t wait to dig out my favourite Ash boots, and perhaps add another pair or two in to the mix.
I am always on the look out for a pair of ankle boots which can work from day to night, so I’ve rounded up options below which I feel fit the bill.
What’s your take guys? What are you most excited about unearthing from your own wardrobe, or adding this season?
