At this time of year I am ALL for tips and tricks which can make life easier.
You may remember that I shared Messenger’s new P2P payment function recently, and now I have even more of the app’s functions to share with you!
If, like me, you’ve left your shopping to the last minute, are balancing family logistics, with errands, commitments and trying to get ready for all of the festivities, then Messenger may be JUST the app to lend a hand!
Here are some of the ways Messenger can help you navigate your holiday season more smoothly, stay in touch with your loved ones, and even organise your NYE outfit.
There is SO much more to this app than just messaging.
3 Ways Messenger Makes Your Holiday Season Easier
1 Messenger Bots
Don’t know what a bot is?
Bots allow you to connect with some of your favourite brands and services, and message or use them directly through Messenger. You can create playlists with your friends using the Spotify bot for Messenger, get recipe advice on cooking your Christmas dinner via the Jamie Oliver Bot (oh my gosh this was so much fun!), and do your last minute shopping via your favourite stores like Marks & Spencer.
Having left my Christmas shopping till the very last minute, I used the ASOS bot to help me to double-check last delivery dates for the brand, and to find an extra gift for my sister.
The service works like a direct line to the brand, I had feedback within five minutes for both of my queries, which helped me to track down a beautiful pyjama set as a gift.
If you too are shopping via Messenger, you simply hit your ‘home button’, then ‘search’ for your chosen retailer, and open up a conversation with them. It couldn’t be easier!
I’ll be using these bots throughout the holiday season – it would be perfect for scoring your NYE outfit too!
“If you have family and friends all over the world too,
Messenger brings you that little bit closer to them.”
2 – Group Video Chat
My sister has been working abroad for the past three months, and she arrives home just a few days before Christmas. I’ve really missed seeing her over the festive season, but it’s been a LOT easier having the ability to video call her via the Messenger app.
You can even group video chat! Meaning, if Mama and Papa Welburn want to get in on the conversation too – they can!
If you have family and friends all over the world too, Messenger brings you that little bit closer to them.
My sister and I may not have been able to share all of our holiday traditions in person just yet, but catching up at the end of our work days via video chat has been SO niceBonus: when you send photos via Messenger over the holiday season you can use holiday effects, frames and stickers to customise photos AND videos! So fun!
3 – A Breather!
The holiday season can be overwhelming . It’s handy to have a few distractions or practices which allow you to take a breather now and then.
The Messenger Instant games allow you to press ‘pause’ on the pace of Christmas, and get some head space. Words With Friends is a family favourite!
Every now and then you get introduced to a little slice of technology which feels like a life hack in itself. The Messenger app is just that.
From group chats, to video calls, to bots – it’s a one-stop destination for staying connected and organising your holiday season and beyond.
What’s Your Take?
How are you getting on with your organisation for the season?
Have you completed your Christmas shopping list, and how are those logistics working out?!
Be sure to keep your Messenger app up to date to make the most of all of the app’s offerings.
I’m off to work on that Christmas list of mine . . . !
Love, Monica x
