What’s the magic formula, when design meets dollar?
Over the last couple of years I’ve bought a couple of designer handbags, all of which fall into the ‘design meets dollar’ category – they have to be gorgeous (of course) and realistically not kill me financially.
I’d always thought that purchasing a designer handbag would be waaay out of my scope of realisation, and part of me even wondered if it was really worth it when there are so many great bags on the High St too. As it happens, I’ve discovered that 1 – it really can be more affordable than you think to buy a designer bag, and 2 – a lot of the premium ‘designer quality’ High St handbags now cost the same amount as a lower-price designer bag, so really, the world is you oyster when it comes to this particular brackets of bags around the £350 mark.
Today I’m sharing ten of my very favourite designer handbags, which all cost £350 or less. From everyday tote bags, to beautiful evening clutches, all of these babes have met a stringent list of requirements over here at team TEA . . .
The £350 (And Less!) Bag Test
- Does this bag make my heart beat faster? Aka, do I LOVE it.
- It is practical for the occasion it would fit? Will I actually use it?
- Will this date? Can I see myself wearing it next year?
If all of these boxes are ticked, I’m halfway to saving up my pennies already! It is more affordable than you might think to buy designer handbags, this selection highlights only my personal favourite ten which I think you will love too. The best way to have a designer snoop, is to set the search parameters on Net-A-Porter or Matches Fashion to ‘Bags’ and then ‘Price Low – High’ – you’ll be surprised at how many of the designer labels you love, create more affordable bag designs.

I really feel that treating yourself to a beautiful designer bag, or something you are really coveting, every now and then, is an investment worth making! I always feel a little extra spring in my step when I am wearing an item of clothing which I’ve especially saved up for, or spent a little more money on. It is awesome to see that recognition of your hard work, manifested in something you enjoy!
