Happy NEW week!
I am so excited to be embarking on a fresh seven days. It feels ‘new notebook’ good (‘cos new notebooks are the best) and I have some gorgeous posts to share with you all – first up a look at Hannah’s Bed & Breakfast in Winchester, where Oli and I enjoyed our first ever stay-cation last weekend.
What: Hannah’s Bed & Breakfast | Where: Winchester, Hampshire, UK
Price: £205 Largest Luxury Room, £185 Luxury Double Room
Recommend it? YES YES YES!!
Best for: Couples & girly weekends away.
Before I embark on a marathon of photos, let me give you the short story – Hannah’s Bed & Breakfast is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been lucky enough to stay. If you have the inclination to take a weekend’s trip in the UK, be it with a partner, or a group of friends, consider Hannah’s Bed & Breakfast. You will not be disappointed.
And now for the photos and wordier review . . . ! *Deep breath*
Hannah’s Bed & Breakfast in Winchester has garnered much praise since its opening last September. The more people I told about our upcoming stay, the more I realised that Oli and I were in for something special – unfalteringly we were met by yelps of delight from friends who had already heard of this boutique Bed & Breakfast.
Hannah’s B&B is tucked in to a side street, right in the heart of the charming cathedral town of Winchester. You would not know where to find it unless you were looking, which lends a private feel to the B&B as well as affording total peace when you’re sleeping.
Hannah’s owner, Hannah McIntyre is as welcoming as a host can be. Having learnt her trade in some of the UK’s best 5* hotels and restaurants, Hannah has a complete ease and charm with her guests. We immediately felt at home, and taken care of.
THE BED BIT . . .
Full disclosure: I genuinely can’t fault Hannah’s Bed & Breakfast.
With a modest three rooms Hannah’s epitomises a boutique B&B. Oli and I stayed in the largest of them and felt like royalty reclining in to one of the comfiest beds we’ve ever slept in, curling up together to watch Netflix – best addition to a room ever! I loved that the Bed & Breakfast was total luxury, but that it didn’t have any of the pretentiousness that can come as part and package of fancy hotels.
Every single corner of the building is beautiful. Functional items you’d be forgiven for looking over aesthetically were all pretty (I mean seriously, a pretty loo brush and everything). Moreover the items which really make a room – beds, toiletries, bathrooms – were on a par with the odd 5* hotel I’ve stayed at.
The aesthetics of the building are made all the more impressive when you learn that until two years ago it was a garage with a derelict dance studio above! Hannah (the owner) gutted, renovated and decorated to create Hannah’s Bed & Breakfast as we know it now. On arrival you can flick through a book which documents the building’s transformation – it is well worth a look.
THE BREAKFAST BIT . . .
The breakfast at Hannah’s B&B was YUM. Homemade granola, fruit and yoghurt, alongside a basket of toast served with homemade marmalade (my favourite) and jam. An excellent cafetiere of coffee (critical in my eyes) made our Monday morning feel like Sunday, and the full english breakfast which ensued was filling but light enough to leave us with energy for a quick pitstop at our favourite Winchester boutique – The Hambledon.
Words over, here are some pretty photos to soothe your Monday minds . . . !
These stairs lead to a cosy loft space with baths in each room. I know.
All in all, I cannot recommend a stay at Hannah’s Bed & Breakfast enough. At around £200 for an evening, with breakfast, it is the perfect luxurious getaway in the UK.

Final, final, note. Oli and I ate at Japanese restaurant Sakura on the evening we stayed at Hannah’s, and OMG it was amazing!
Following in the footsteps of last week’s awesome madness, the next seven days are looking pretty crazy too . . . !
Tomorrow is Oli’s Birthday, I am heading to Osea Island for a press trip (can’t wait – it looks enchanting) and then two of our best friends are getting married on Friday! I haven’t been to the gym in a while but life is definitely putting my fitness to the test! Ha!
I’d love to know if you guys have enjoyed a stay-cation before? Or if you have anywhere in the UK you’d recommend visiting? OR have any of you stayed at Hannah’s Bed & Breakfast?!
Have a great start to your weeks guys!
Love, Monica x
