Look Of The Day: Vivid Tartan

Dear Elgin Avenue readers,

A very good day to you all!
Scarf: Aubin & Wills, Jumper: Gift, Belt & Skirt: Vintage, Shoes: c/o Kandee Shoes, Tote: c/o Accessorize
This tartan skirt has been nestled amongst my Winter wardrobe for far too long now itching to get out! When I first laid my eyes upon it in a vintage shop in Soho my eyes bulged and my heart beat faster, it was love.
I first got to thinking about tartan when I saw a picture of the beautiful Jessica Alba attending a Ralph Lauren presentation in an ankle-grazing yellow number (indeed this look had such an impact on me I mention it here too). There is something old-wordly romantic about our checkered fabric friend and yet in a bright colour-way it seems to me like an excellent trans-seasonal piece.

What is your fail-safe trans-seasonal item? Are you a tartan fan?

Have a super day all!

Love,

    1. Hey Carol! Ah thanks so much! Tartan seems to have divided opinions...is it associated too much with old fashions? I think I'm a bit in love with it....whoops!

p.s. after 7 years of having to wear a kilt to school (yes, REALLY) I can't do a tartan skirt... a shirt or a scarf maybe :)

    1. Hey Wendy! Haha I had to wear a box-pleated monstrosity of a thing - if any one came near me with a 'modern' version I would run a mile! I think a scarf would look awesome though.

Also HUGE congratulations on your Vixen blog award nomination! So SO cool!
