Flare Affair *Look Of The Day*

Sometimes you have a root around your wardrobe and come across an old flame you'd like to reignite - such was the story with my MiH flares. These gold-button beauties came in to my possession many moons ago when I was working with the team at MiH, I remember thinking how darn awesome they were - and I was rather chuffed that I had my hands on a pair of trews that Vogue had declared "The jean of the Summer". Well it isn't quite Summer now, but with a huge oversized knit I managed to give my flares a whirl last week before the snow set in yesterday.
Good timing.
Below is a pic of the last time I wore my flared denim pals on a decidedly more sunny day. Interestingly I styled the jeans with the same tan bag and shoes - I think it's the 70's aura a wide-leg ignites.

When styling flares I find that a neatly tucked-in top, say a silk blouse or a thin-weight T-shirt work best. I then like to wear a longer-line jacket (like outfit 2) or a long-line jumper (like outfit 1) which hits the hip, this balances out proportions.

love the look Monica - my fav flares are J Brand lovestory and I unfortunately put my derriere right through them a couple weeks back :( so sad!
