Look Of The Day: Long Coat, Short Skirt.
Dear Elgin Avenue readers,
A very Happy Friday to you all!
Long Length Coat: H&M, Burgundy Tights: Next, Black Suede Boots: Jones The Bootmaker, Thick Socks: Old, Navy Jumper: H&M, Black Tiered Skirt: Zara, Leather Bag: Bought in Malaysia, Watch: Swatch, Hoops: Claire's Accessories, Necklaces & Orange Wraparound bracelet: New Look
This navy coat has provided me with much enjoyment since I bought it a couple of months ago in H&M. There is something about being swathed in fabric down to your ankles which makes you feel a bit like a City-dwelling wizard. Or, you know, elegant at least.
I find that short skirts come in to their own when paired with a long coat, I feel much happier in a micro-mini like the Zara number above when reassured by the hem of my coat as to the bending-over-bum-baring-risk. In fact the hem line balance is a doddle when pitting very long against very short.
They counteract each other - styling science if you will.
(Of course if I were Serena Van Der Woodsen all science goes out the door.)
On a jewellery note I've been layering up recent additions which I found in none other than New Look! My advocacy for hunting downs jewels e-v-e-r-y-where knowns no bounds, but even I hadn't fully grasped the breadths of New Look's offerings until now.
Now that I have, I am buying in bulk.
Naturally.
Necklaces: New Look
Have a super evening all!
Love,
MB x
P.S. Give burgundy, navy or forest green tights a try!
I'm a convert - more fun than black!
